Hey Y’all! My name is Emily and I grew up in Northwest Ohio where the Winters are brutal and the people are all nuts (well… actually Buckeyes). I’ve always had the urge to be creative and after High School I went to Cosmetology School to follow that passion. I knew in my heart that a career in the beauty industry would lead me down the path that God set out for me. And boy did it!

After graduating from hair school, I packed up my Honda Civic, my Abercrombie clothes, 15 pairs of shoes, and my Dad’s American Express (just kidding about the American Express, but everything else was pretty darn close to that old Kenny Chesney song!) and I set off for the beaches of Florida. After a brief stop in Daytona, I headed off to West Palm Beach to get certified in floral design. While getting certified, I met the owner of a flower shop in Naples, FL where I spent the next 4 years of my life designing beautiful wedding flowers, perfecting my craft behind the chair at one of the best Ulta Salon’s in the country, and meeting some of the best people this world has ever known. One of those people being my husband.

I’m married to Garrett who is a 6th generation Floridian, which is rare nowadays. He grew up on the West Coast of Florida near the beaches that everyone seems to be flocking to. Ironically, we met at a wedding! We lived about 2 hours away from each other, so for the better part of 3 years, we had a semi-long-distance relationship. There’s a lot to unpack about our dating years, so I’ll save that for later. After he graduated in 2011 from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I followed him back up North where he started his career as a Project Engineer.

We got married in 2012 and started our family in 2015. We now have 3 boys, Fletcher, Foster, and Fort who are growing up way too fast. Was I happy to move back to the Midwest? Not exactly, but we make the best of it, and we’re creating a life that we’re proud of. One day we’re hoping to plant our roots right back in the sandy shores of Florida. God willing!

A “Meet Emily” page would not be complete if I didn’t mention my Faith in Jesus Christ. He has been the rock on which I stand for my entire life. I know you didn’t come to this site to get preached to, but He made me who I am, and I have to give Him the Glory.

As I write this, I am not sure where this journey will take me, but at least I’ll have something to look back on and be glad that I took the chance. I hope this Blog inspires you, makes you laugh, and brings joy to your life.
